Re: Ad Hoc Committee Update for 5-16-21
The RSU 71 Board has learned that the Bank of America property, which was being considered for a new school, is no longer available. While the Board was interested in exploring this for a new elementary school, it was not the only option available. For several years the Board has been discussing the possibility of building a new elementary school or renovating existing schools to best meet the needs of our students. The ad-hoc committee that was established to specifically explore the Bank of America property, will not be formed. As we move forward the Board and the Long Range Planning Committee will discuss next steps and we will continue to research all options. Thank you to all who volunteered to serve on the committee, stay tuned for more information.
