Busline League sports Happy to be back: Middle school baseball, softball big hit

By Staff | May 10, 2021

They patiently waited in the never-ending quest to get back in the game.

And finally, middle school student-athletes — namely, baseball and softball players — have been rewarded for their perseverance.

That is because after the 2020 spring season (baseball, softball, track and field), 2020 fall season (soccer, field hockey, cross country) and 2020-21 winter season (basketball, wrestling) were canceled due to the pandemic, those children wondered if they would again see official school sports competition.

It happened and those diamond youngsters are in the midst of their eight-game seasons (track-and-field athletes also will have virtual meets).

So, ultimately, the young athletes are in a happy place — competing against their friends and other schools.

Coaches can report results to Courier Publications/VillageSoup by emailing a detailed game report to sports@courierpublicationsllc.com. Please include full names of all listed players and as much detail as possible.
