RSU 71 Welcomes a New Assistant Superintendent and Director of Curriculum

Belfast, ME — RSU 71 is proud to announce the appointment of Jessica S. Giorgetti as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent and Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, effective July 1, 2025.

Giorgetti will work closely with the Superintendent to support the development and success of RSU 71’s educational programs. Her responsibilities will include overseeing the district’s K–12 curriculum and instructional programming, implementing and evaluating the district-wide assessment plan, and coordinating professional development opportunities that support the ongoing growth of educators. She will also contribute to planning efforts, data reporting, and serve as a liaison for key district committees and initiatives.

She holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Secondary Science from the University of Maine. Giorgetti joins RSU 71 from MSAD 41, where she served as Director of Teaching and Learning, leading curriculum review, data reporting, Grant Management, and program oversight for gifted and multilingual learners. Before her administrative work, she taught high school science for over a decade at Hampden Academy and Mount View High School, inspiring students in courses ranging from life science, Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology to Physical Science, Earth Science, and Physics.

Giorgetti brings a distinctive blend of public education and private-sector experience, having previously owned and operated a successful construction and landscaping company for over 12 years. This multifaceted background brings a mix of content expertise, governance, business operations, and K-12 curriculum leadership. Prior to teaching, Ms. Giorgetti served on the RSU 22 Board of Directors, which enhanced her strengths in strategic planning, team leadership, and systems thinking.

She currently resides in Hampden with her two daughters, who will both be heading off to college this fall. Known for her collaborative approach, commitment to inclusive education, and deep care for student success, Giorgetti is eager to begin this next chapter. “I am honored to join RSU 71 as Assistant Superintendent and Director of Curriculum,” Giorgetti shared. “This role reflects everything I value in education—collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence.

I look forward to supporting staff and students across Belfast, Belmont, Morrill, Searsmont, and Swanville in their pursuit of meaningful, high-quality learning experiences.”
