The Merlin Environmental studies program, a collaboration between the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition and Troy Howard Middle School culminated in a field trip to Sears Island to explore the trails and coast of this rich island.  The program will return next year providing place-based lessons that connect students to their natural environment.

Extraordinary Learning Experience at THMS

TLC students and staff had a wonderful opportunity to learn about the life cycle and development of chickens. Ms. Brea generously brought in some of her eggs and an incubator, guiding us through the fascinating process of raising chickens. The students were captivated by the experience and especially thrilled to witness a few chicks hatching yesterday. It’s been an unforgettable and educational journey for everyone involved!
